So I installed this nifty little gizmo from a website that I cant believe they give away for free.

statfinder.com is a fun website that is probably in serious violation of certain invasion-of-privacy laws but is certainly entertaining for me. I found it initially just to put a hit-counter on my page so I could get an idea about how many people I field on a regular basis. The counter is so far the only thing that they havent given me.

They set up some sorta spy ring inside my page that gives me the breakdown of how everybody is coming around here and how they found me. It tells me the number of people that have come by, how many were new viewers, where they come from, their IP addresses, countries, cities and economic stability. Its probably not THAT invasive, but especially with the passing of the patriot act... I dont much care.

What I have come to realize though, in the 15 or so since I installed the thing, is that Im getting a bunch of hits that I was never aware of. I was under the assumption that the same 7-20 people were stopping by here and that was the end of it. My little computer agent informs me otherwise though.

In my 23 hits since this eraly morning, mostly were Americans, but I snagged a few canadians, a few unknowns, an Israeli and a Croatian. Of the Americans, Ive gotten hits from Hicksville and Fulton NY, Akron Ohio, the expected Brooklyns and oddly enough, a Nashville. This is good and bad. Its obviously good in that Im getting a more varied group of visitors then I had assumed. Its bad however in that Im not getting any feedback from these nameless, faceless visitors. Speak up. Tell me how you found me, what you enjoyed or hated, etc...

My ego demands it.

shoots-o-rama- this means i can no longer check ur blog a bjillion times a day without being labeled a stalker.
also, im convinced that these stat counters lie to you; mine tells me that i have visitors from belgium, rome, australia, and many strange named cities in almost every one of the 50 states.
my theory is that the # they give you is a farce. blogger wants to attract more bloggers, so they strike a deal with this blog counter thingy which lies to you, the blogger, making you feel popular. this in turn encourages the blogger- and the blogging community is strengthened and continues along its merry way.

I got one myself and love it, it's very very informative, beware about the visitors total, many don't stay longer tha 0:00 seconds, in which case, well they really don't count!

I'm one of those nameless, faceless visitors, mainly b/c I'd feel really random just popping up in the middle of nowhere, but hey, now you've given me an excuse to do so!

I found you through my Hindi friend - my motto is: When boredom strikes, go blogsurfing. And being that boredom strikes pretty often, especially when a deadline looms, well... :)

I wasn't looking at your blog with a 'do I like it or hate it' eye, so I'll have to get back on you for the last one, but I gotta agree with you, ketchup rocks!

All right. I'll be honest. I found you while doing a search for "metrosexual ketchup fat baby".

First, some advice: Join JRants.com, Jewishblogging.com, and Technorati.com. For fun, join the TTLB Ecosystem. Most importantly, get a SiteMeter counter; they're easily the most accurate and popular. Combined amount of time... about 15 minutes to do all those, if you're really slow.

And, so it's easier to get to your favorite blogs, or even mine, get a BlogRolling.com blogroll in your sidebar.

Oh, and the ISPs aren't really accurate. Often, they show up as wherever their company's servers are: AOL's are all in Reston Virginia, so don't be surprised to see that all the time. :)

so there i was sitting on the moon, freezing cold as a matter of fact, and hands tied behind my back by moldy bagels and masking tape. my feet were in a tub of yep, u guessed it (or not..)ketchup. the important thing is not how i got there; the important thing is that i was to remain as such until pesach eve. the alternative? check out the xvi blog. the choice was difficult, but in the end good sense and practicality won.

So, can someone get me off the moon please??

Sara: Firstly, the stalker position is currently available and so you are more then welcome to fill the position. I believe you fulfill most of the qulifications I demand of stalkers. Also, I was kind of hoping that my blogging was at least slightly sincere and wasnt provoked by some ruse of the statcounter site. I feel like Ive been deinnocentized.

sucker: thanks for posting at all. Big numbers make me happy. As for Hindi, looks like were both not posting these days so Im sorry if Im not filling in her place on your blogroll.

Goldfish: Thanks for the sites. Gonna implement them as soon as I get unlazified. Looking forward to shabbat.

Sabra: Dont drink and blog dude. You happened to end up at the right blog this time around... but only G-d knows where you might end up next time. You could even wind up here: ( http://rrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnhhhh.blogspot.com/ ). Just be careful. thats all im saying. That, and "welcome."

Sara... whats the safe answer here? Um... Your way to hot to be considered a stalker. Stalkers are generally unwanted and bothersome. You are a welcome and coveted member of my blogroll :) Good enough?

ummm thanks but actually that was just a joke... u didnt really have to answer

sara - Aside from being my own personal soapbox from upon which I preach, this blog is also a discussion board. Questions will be answered regardless of their rhetoric, sarcasm or silliness.

Also, thats two consecutive responses in which youv used the elipses. thats MY punctuation... get your own.

At 10:15 PM, Blogger Sara said...

whoa! feisty!
1. i use ellipses all the time- its actually a pet peeve of mine when ppl make ellipses with more/less than 3 dots
2. you cant tell me what to do!
3. you cant claim a punctuation as your own. words you can bc there are enough words to go around but punctuation- there are like 5... if you take one where does that leave there rest of the world- or are you too selfish to care about a world existing without proper punctuation!

Sara - In response to part 1, amen, for I too am finnicky as to the improper spelling(?) of elipses. As for parts 2 and 3 you darned well better believe I can. As the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent deity that IS this blog I may lay claim to all punctuation as I see fit. I am the creator and the destroyer. I am XVI and you shall take not my elipses in vain! Within the HTML confines of this blog I am the alpha and the omega and non may transgress my will.

BEHOLD: with my very will, I shall delete the next post!!!

Hi everybody,
last night I was looking at the family pictures and I realized that we live in the era of the possibilities for example I am writing a message for un unlimited amount of unknown readers and this makes me entousiast and I want to get more for my future, so more opportunities and more money. I am completing my professional update class but I don't feel still sadisfied and I do regularly self learning too. I am interested in internet and I have created a website for my family (Gulp, it was not easy to find a php web hosting) but I presume that I can make for sameone else too but I have to pay the mortgage so I wanna think good about it. Wish me good luck.
